RealCADD and iPocket Draw

One of my problems has been dividing a line into segments, and then drawing another line off of each segment. Sometimes, I have difficulty finding the endpoints.

I noticed that in RealCADD, you can divide your line, and then, drag-select to make the segments appear. Then, you can switch to the line tool, and draw off of a segment. (Unfortunately, this only works once. You have to reselect the line each time, to see the segments.)

If you do the same thing in iPD, you can drag-select the line, which shows the segments. But when you switch to the line tool, the segments go away. IWBN if they would stay, at least long enough to start your next line.

I don't remember why I deselect all objects when the user chooses a tool.
Perhaps for a good raison!?

I will test what happens if I deselect all objects after.
