RealCADD and iPocket Draw

I am tearing my hair out. After I make an entry, I tap the ESC key, to return to the selection tool. IT ERASES MY ENTRY. THIS IS NOT GOOD.

The ESC key should always take me out of the tool I'm using, and back to the selection tool. That's normal behavior in any number of programs. But that's all it should do. Clicking somewhere else to "set" my entry is a waste of time.

Please, can you do anything?

I have some other questions and problems, as well. I'll try to work them up for you when I'm a little calmer.
