Align

Hi Eric

One minor problem I have been having is with Action>>Align. Every so often the Align sub-menu (Left, Hor. centred etc.) becomes dimmed out.

I can't track this to any particular circumstance, though usually it is after I have been working for a while. It's not specific to a file – it is the same on all open files and if I open a new file it is like that also. I haven't found a way of restoring it, except by quitting.

Quitting RealCADD and rebooting fixes the problem – until it happens again.

I am using v. 4.31 on OS X 10.7.5

Best regards

George

Bonjour George,

In some circumstances, it is normal that this menu is gray and not enabled.
The menu "Action" looks different if no objects are selected or only one or many.
For example, "Action => Align" is enabled only if more than one object are selected beacause you can't align only one object.
If this menu is disabled when more than one object are selected, it is a bug.
But for instant, I can't reproduce it.
Can you confirm that you can have this menu disabled with more than one object selected?

Thanks.

Hi Eric

Thanks for the response. And yes I can confirm that this happens with two or more objects selected.

The Action>>Align part is not dimmed. All that is dimmed is the Align sub-menu (Left, Hor. centred, Right, Top, Vert Centre, Bottom).

In fact when I went back to a drawing this morning, this had happened, although it was fine when I was working on it last night.

Action>>Distribute is the same. Distribute is on focus OK, but the sub-menu is dimmed.

The difficult thing is that I can't track this to any particular circumstance or set of events. I am working away and have been using Align quite happily and then suddenly it isn't functional any more – very annoying :D

Bonsoir George,

I can't reproduce this bug but I have made some changes in my code.
Can you test this new version, please ?

Thank you !

Hi Eric

They are just the worst sort aren't they - intermittent ones with no real pattern.

I suppose it could conceivably be something peculiar to my computer or set-up – but it is very standard.

I will test the new version and report back. It usually happens about twice in a working day – some days not at all and sometimes several times, so it may be a day or two before I think it isn't happening.

Many thanks

Cheers -- George :D

Hi Eric

Align seems to be functioning just fine now after 3 days of continuous work.

So, what you did seems to have fixed it!

Many thanks :D

Hi Eric

I spoke too soon!

Align just went dimmed out :(

Same situation, Align is not dimmed but the sub menu is.

Could this be something on my computer or set up do you think?

It is a pain but not a real problem as quitting fixes it. Just annoying!

It's really hard to track down the circumstance as I am working away normally and then suddenly when I go to Align, the sub menu is dimmed. A few moments previously it was just fine.

Cheers -- George
