Crash with 4.63b3

Post by Mikerosen »

Eric,
I was doing some simple drawings, and when I tried to add dimensions, I got a crash with this dialogue box:

I turned off the "attraction names" and it seems to be working correctly.

BTW, I do like the added attractions and names, although they still aren't working quite reliably enough. Thanks!

I get crashes like this too. I've sent them to Eric and he can't reproduce them. To be fair neither can I – I can't make them happen, they just come out of the blue. I thought it was maybe because some of my drawings are very complex, with lots of lines and groups. I'm glad it's not just me and that it happens on a simple drawing as well. I have a feeling that it's to do with speed of movement over the Tool pallet – but that could be entirely wrong and a total red herring ...

I too like the flags – and I like being able to turn them off when you want to. On really complex drawings with lots of groups of maybe many hundreds of items, it gets a bit too much – half the drawing lighting up in green every time you pass over it!

Thank you Mike and George!

I have fixed this bug :
RealCADD 4.63b4 Mac
RealCADD 4.63b4 Win

Perhaps this will fix also your crashes, George.

Cordialement.

Hi Eric

I still got a crash after about 4 hours working – and that is on a very simple drawing (yes I do make simple drawings  ).

Fist message was:

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 16.57.47.png (32.92 KiB) Viewed 7960 times
And after saving, second message was:
Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 16.58.09.png
Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 16.58.09.png (32.75 KiB) Viewed 7960 times
I had the new "display attraction names" turned on. I haven't tried it with them turned off. But i was getting crashes before this was introduced.

I really like the flags etc.

One small thing sometimes centre says "Center" (text & objects) and sometimes "Middle" (lines) – not a big deal but I guess it ought to be standardized. I personally rather like "Middle" (good solid anglo-saxon word!) but I guess "Center" is more usual ...

George,

I use Middle when it is between 2 points : Middle of a line, middle of a side of a rectangle
and center when it is an area : center of a rectangle.

Thanks.

Good evening Eric!

No problem with that. I like Middle. It was a nit-picking comment anyway
