Hi Eric
Realcadd is so good now (for what I do anyway) that there's almost nothing else left on the "wish list"!
One thing that I really would like to see is an Auto-size Line feature – preferably on the Attributes pane with all the other line features. This would insert the line length into the centre of the line. You can choose arrows etc to go with it as usual and attractions work as usual. This would make dimensioning things like the image below, where conventional dimensional tools aren't useful, very much easier and quicker. This image is just part of a longer drawing with 76 "auto-size line" measurements. It is delineating the developed shape of the first plank on a lapstrake boat hull and there are 12 more to do. You can see it gets tedious!
One very minor and unimportant issue is the Mouse Position pane – it would be nice to be able to move it about like all the others.
Cheers -- George

Re: Auto-size line
Bonjour George,
It is probably possible to do this with a script.
I will try to write it.

Re: Auto-size line
Hi Eric
That works very well – I had tried forever to write a script that would do the job! With no success at all.
It's not quite as flexible as an autosize line, which changes the dimension if you trim or extend the line, but it does the job excellently!
I edited the script for my usual dimensioning style – Helvetica 9 and no decimals – no problems at all! I had to edit it in a text editor – I got errors when I tried to edit it in the script edit – probably did something stupid.
Thank you very much indeed. Now if you'd just do a script to find the centre of area of an object ......
All the best for 2105
Georges
OK – I've realised what I was doing wrong in Edit

Re: Auto-size line
Hi Eric
Me again!
The script works fine and the attraction C, E and I all work – but P (perpendicular) doesn't. Why is that do you think?
Cheers

Re: Auto-size line
George,
It was a bug in RealCADD.
This attraction worked only with the tools Line.
Now it works also with the scripts which begins by a line.
New version 4.41b1 : http://adx-online.com/RealCADD441b1.zip
The bug on the transparency of the pallet which was not saved is also fixed.
Thanks.
