Dividing dialogue

Post by Mikerosen »

Eric,

When choosing the Divide action, could you set the "number of sections" to default to the selection box? Right now, we have to mouse or Tab to get to the number. Just a little time saver.

Thanks!

Mike,

For me, the number is selected when the dialog appears.
Not for you?

Hi Mike:

Mine is like Eric's – when I select Action >> Divide the box for the number of divisions is on focus and I can enter the number I want directly without doing anything.

Not mine. I have to Tab twice to get it ready.

Mac OS 10.9.4 (Just added it to my signature.)

I just double-checked. The OK button is framed (as well as pulsing.) A single Tab shifts focus to the Cancel, the second Tab to the number field. Or, a Shift+Tab will back it up from the OK to the number field.

Mike,

It is an option in the system (to works like Windows...)
Preferences system -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Deselect "All controls"

That did it, thanks.

But will that change anything in other apps? I guess time will tell...

I don't use this feature.
And I didn't know that this feature exist before you ask.
You can switch it on/off with Ctrl + F7.

Thanks.

I'll experiment, and let you know if I run into any problems.

Thanks for finding the solution!
