Re: Great frustration
I hate being so predictable! :D But I can't help it! :( Center works with any object that has a centre (line, rectangle, oval, regular polygon etc). And it works on the sides and segments as well as the actual center. Just like Perpendicular works from most shapes – circumference of a circle, oval (...

Re: Great frustration
Hi Mike! You knew I would answer this :D With the rectangle and the line: As long as you have EPIC selected in the snap pallet you can do it just fine (E = end; C=center; I=intersection and P=perpendicular). In fact for this job you just need to have E & C. Just hit the appropriate keys on the k...

Re: Centres of Area
Hi Eric
Sounds good to me!
I hope that you will extend the Command Line to all the applicable tools – I now use it all the time.
Cheers -- George

Re: Feature request
Hi Mike If I had only one request to make of you, it would be this: that the ESC key would do just that - escape from what ever tool you are using, at any stage in its function, and return you to the selection arrow. If you just hit A on the keyboard, this gets you back to the selection arrow, from ...

Re: Breaking a dimension line
It works fine.
I have to say I prefer the dimension to break the line rather than be above it – mais, tant pis, ce n'est pas grave
Cheers -- George

Re: Centres of Area
Good Morning Eric! That seems a perfect solution. :D I notice that the Area (S) of a 100+ polygon now shows as NAN in the Edit panel – I guess that's because it's not testing for area, just for length and perimeter. You get the area from the Action >> Length, areas & center menu. One small glitc...

Re: Breaking a dimension line
The question is : When a change the size of a text, must I keep the top or the bottom of the text? I think mostly fonts grow from the bottom. That's certainly the case with all the word processors I have used – as you enlarge the font most of the growth is at the bottom. Which is another good reaso...

Re: Breaking a dimension line
That's what I often do with my auto script (though I didn't in the example I posted) – put a space before and after the dimension text – there is the facility to do that. You can also add other things (like "mm" or "J = ") anything you want to be in the dimensioning. In principle...

Re: Breaking a dimension line
You have to Ungroup the line and dimension group. Then you can move the text and leave the dimension line like it is. If you want the text on top of the line, bring the text to the front and give it a white background. I have an auto-dimensioning Script that does the job for you – looks like this: S...

Re: Centres of Area
Bonjour Eric I can understand that - there are 2800+ sides! The test that if no side cuts another is really useful because if that is the case, then you don't get a CoA – which tells me that somewhere I have something wrong – usually a double line from a trim that has joined into the polygon – so wh...
